About the MAC

The Mitchell Activity Center (MAC) is a hub for recreation, wellness, community and fun! At the MAC, members can participate in a variety of games, sports, fitness classes, recreation and activities. Our memberships are available to students, faculty and staff of Seattle Central College and North Seattle College or South Seattle College.

Lower Level

  • Gender Neutral Restrooms
    • Single-use gender neutral restrooms are located on the lower level next to the weight room.
  • Weight Room
    • The weight room is located on the lower level of the building. We have a variety of cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights and other fitness equipment for members to use. The weight room also has day use lockers located in the small room within the weight room. Locks for the day use lockers in this space can be checked out for the weight room attendant office.
  • Racquet Courts
    • We have three racquet courts located on the lower level. We have equipment for racquetball and badminton located for check out at the locker room attendant desk. In the last racquet court, we have set up a small net for badminton that can also be used for volleyball.
  • Locker Rooms
    • There are two locker rooms located on the lower level. We currently have a men’s and women’s locker room. Both have showers, bathrooms, day use lockers, quarterly rental lockers and saunas.
    • Members can rent a locker for the quarter at an additional cost of $5 per quarter.

Main Floor

  • Front Lobby
    • The Front Lobby is a space where our patrons enter the building and are greeted by the front desk staff. Patrons need to be let into the building by front desk staff, their cards do not let them into the building. Patrons are allowed to eat food at the high-top tables in the front lobby. There is also a scooter storage rack located outside of Room 210; members can check out a lock for this at the front desk. At this time, we do not have bike storage inside the building.
  • Room 210
    • This is a large meeting room and gathering space in our building. It is open to members to enjoy and eat food in. This space and the main lobby are the only two areas in the building where we allow people to eat food. There is a microwave in this space as well as napkins, eating utensils, trash and compost.
    • Room 210 can be reserved on 25Live, or folks interested in reserving the space can contact the mac.central@seattlecolleges.edu email. If there is a room reservation, a sign will be posted outside the space noting the time the group has the space reserved. If there are no reservations, then the space is open to all members.
  • Game Room
    • The Game Room is a space for members to enjoy a variety of games and hang out in the community. We have three ping pong tables, three billiard tables, an x-box and several board games that members can check out and enjoy within this space. Any equipment in this space should be used within the game room unless given permission by a Recreation Specialist. All equipment that gets checked out from the game room desk requires an ID card to be stored in the checkout box.

If there is a room reservation, a sign will be posted outside the space noting the time the group has the space reserved. If there are no reservations, then the space is open to all members.
  • Fitness Studio
    • The fitness studios are available to members to use freely when there are not group fitness classes in session. Fitness class schedules will be posted outside the space and the rooms will be marked as closed when classes are in session. Members using this space need to store their belongings within the fitness studio, unless they are utilizing the locker rooms to do so. No shoes or belonging should be left in the hallway.

Top Floor

  • Gym
    • The Gym is located on the third floor (top level) of the MAC. Here is where members can play basketball, badminton and volleyball. There is NO FOOD or Beverages without lids allowed in this space.

If there is a room reservation, a sign will be posted outside the space noting the time the group has the space reserved. If there are no reservations, then the space is open to all members.
  • Running track (above the gym)
    • There is a running track located above the gym. To access this space members will need to use the main stairwell and continue to the highest level. This is the only space in our building that is not accessible by elevator.
