Yoga Teacher Certification

If you want to share your love of yoga with others, Seattle Central College's Continuing Education offers classes at the Mitchell Activity Center (MAC) to help you become a certified instructor. You should take this class if you are: 

  • Skilled yoga practitioners that would like to teach professionally
  • Experienced yoga practitioners that would like to deepen their understanding of different styles of yoga

100 Hour Certification

Lead Instructor

Deborah “Dee” Williams (RYT-500) founder of Kanjin Yoga teaches an inspired blend of classical Hatha yoga. Over the years Dee has studied with B.K.S Iyengar Senior Teachers, master teachers at the Bikram Yoga College of India and Integrative Restoration (iREST) Institute founder Richard Miller in the practice of Yoga Nidra. Dee helps her students with finding deeper expressions beyond yoga asana based on her studies and practice of meditation and mindfulness based stress reduction. Additional certifications include; HealthPoint Silver Sneakers FLEX Yoga, Warriors at Ease for teaching trauma informed yoga for Military Veterans, Zumba a dance inspired fitness program and yoga therapy with the foundation of Ayurveda for natural wellness. Dee’s passion for learning and teaching extends beyond yoga into writing and service to the community.

Assistant Instructor

Julia Goldie (RYT-200) has been developing her passion and practice in yoga for over 20 years. Always having been very drawn to keeping the body healthy and active she has been working on and off in the world of recreational sports and leisure activities since 2003. In 2011 she earned her Level 1 yoga training which lead her to teaching at the YMCA. She fell in love with the classroom atmosphere and continued on her certification journey, earning credentials in silver sneakers, general group fitness and her 200 level yoga certification. She has been the director of the MAC, which allowed her to gain experience managing fitness programs, classes and certifications.
