Tai Chi & Qigong

Tai chi is a gentle form of exercise that can benefit everyone, combining deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th-century China, modern tai chi is practiced around the world as a health-promoting exercise. Tai chi can increase strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. Qigong consists of gentle, rhythmic movements that reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.

Our Tai Chi & Qigong classes are designed to be accessible regardless of your level of mobility. You will quickly learn the gentle, flowing movements and breath control leaving you feeling better.

Attending this Class

Mitchell Activity Center (MAC) members can attend this class at any point during the quarter for free. Not a MAC member? You can join a class using a guest pass, or sign up for the series of classes through Continuing Education.
